THE NEUTRAL ZONE

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by a significant point margin nationally, as reported in recent polls. According to a Fox News Poll released Sunday, 29% of voters said coronavirus is the most important issue facing the country, and over half of the voters disapprove of President Trump’s response to the virus. Fifteen percent of respondents said the economy is the most important issue and 10% said it was issues surrounding race relations, race issues, and the police.

Similar results in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll found the public preference for Biden over President Trump to handle the coronavirus has “soared since March.” Biden also gained ground to handle the economy after trailing in March. Biden leads President Trump by 9 points on handling crime and safety and 25 points on race relations.

Trump campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley stated that even though polls show Trump losing to Biden, the president is winning “in other ways.” In an interview aired on Sunday on Fox News with host Chris Wallace, President Trump stated, “I’m not losing because those are fake polls.” Trump also claimed that his campaign has internal polls showing him “leading in every swing state.”
